The Irvine Valley Writers Group

Beginnings

Most of us met while attending a Creative Writing course in Galston, Ayrshire. The course aimed to improve on our existing writing skills. One year and several courses later we are all confident writers who want to share our work with others.

The group decided that we did not want to drift apart after the course finished so we elected to continue writing, meeting and talking. The Irvine Valley Writers Group was born.

Since then we have picked up other members from the community. We welcome new members of any age or skill level along with any experience they might bring to our group.

We meet twice a month for two hours to read, discuss and critique each other's work. Each writer has their own unique style, favourite genre and way with words and we aim to encourage everyone in every aspect of their creativity.

While we are not professionals, some of our group have had work published on the web, in magazines and booklets. We all enjoy the written word and encourage each other as much as possible in our writing endeavours.

If you are interested in writing short stories, poetry or anything at all please feel free to come along and join our group...We are fun, supportive and passionate about writing.

Please see our Blog for dates and times of meetings...

A warm welcome awaits...as does the opportunity to read your work, receive positive feed-back and enjoy our varied discussions.

Meanwhile, feel free to browse through our website, read our stories, articles and poems and leave a comment, message or a question for any member of our group.

We hope you enjoy reading our work as much as we enjoyed writing it.
